As much as we like to pretend to deny it, we love a scroll of Daily Mail.co.uk for the celebrity gossip and photos. When it pops up that the latest celebrity to fall out of the Big Brother house has collaborated on a clothing line, our hearts sink. Surely, there is only so much flammable lycra a girl can buy. It is for this very reason that we tend to steer clear of celebrity clothing collaborations. Kate Moss collaborating with anyone; and Alexa Chung collaborating with… well, anyone again, are the only two whose clothing lines we covet- we genuinely love them and their unique style. But now, the times they are a changing, and we now have another celebrity clothing line to add to our very short list of ones we love, and surprisingly it has come from a very unexpected source.
Alongside our not so secret Daily Mail obsession, we are also partial to a bit of Made in Chelsea. One of MIC’s alumni is Millie Mackintosh, who has been beavering away quietly at her clothing line, and it is on her website that we spotted this dress. I love a unique neckline as I find them flattering, and am drawn to little details on clothes, and this ruffle neckline and shoulder detail flatters both the arms and the shoulders. With its classic bias cut, this dress is perfect for Christmas parties when worn with heels, and come next year, will also be ideal or the beach in flip flops.
We have both styled the dresses differently. Caroline has gone for the classic look, and has teamed her dress with some classic Louboutin pumps, here, and a Rockstar Valentino Clutch, here. I have gone for a casual biker look and have worn my dress with some AS98 Biker boots, similar here and a Zara military coat here.
Given that the dress is slightly shiny, we highly recommend wearing Spanx underneath it. But then again, since having kids, Spanx are an essential part of our evening wardrobe, shiny dress or not! I would also recommend buying this in two sizes, as we found that the sizing is a bit erratic- but nevertheless, this is one celebrity clothing line we are enjoying, and we are looking forward to what else Millie Mackintosh will come out with!
