These strange times of living our lives in a perpetual state of not knowing what will happen next, has left us all feeling challenged and confused. Adding on the constant daily rigmarole of homeschooling, house chores, cooking, trying to stay on top of work if you are lucky enough to still have a job, has tipped us over the edge. What are the things keeping us (vaguely) sane during lockdown?
It really is the little things in life that now matter most. Whether that’s a hot bath, time on your own to read, a cup of coffee, or just sleep have become the currency to a happier life whilst inside. The luxuries of going to get a facial, or a massage is of a bygone era at the moment, so to make up for these essentials that make us feel vaguely human, we have come up with our tried and tested must haves that we could not live without in this current crisis.
- Balance Me Sleep CBD Concentrate Oil
A roll on stick of Frankinsense and CBD, this oil has made us feel relaxed and calm and ready for bed. If, like us, you have found that your sleep has been patchy, broken and odd during this time, then this is for you. We like to roll it on our wrists and pillow, and the scent of Lavender and the good dose of CBD makes us drift off to sleep in no time. You can find the oil here… its been a true life saver.
2. Dermalogica Superfoliant
A water activated exfoliant that is a resurfacing, anti pollution powder and helps to protect and prevent ageing. With non of those sketchy microbeads, and jam packed with goodness, this makes our skin super smooth and calm. You can find it here.
3. Conscious Chocolate
A small business that makes raw, vegan chocolate is a winner in our book, and Conscious Chocolate doesn’t fail! The flavours are mouth watering ( the Coconut and Chia bars, Tangerine Bars and the Peppermint Bars being some of our favourites) and all the packaging is not only beautifully designed but also totally recyclable. British made and tasty… what more do you want?! Find it here.
4. Lancôme Grandiose Eyeliner
A bendable eyeliner that allows you to get to the eyelid at the right angle and create the best lines! Because the wand pivots, it adapts to everyone’s unique eyeshade and is smudge resistant and comes in three colours and lasts all day long. Now we have the perfect eyeline flick, where can we go?! Find the eyeliner here.
5. Toni & Guy Deep Barrel Hair Waver
If we can’t go to the beach and emerge from the salty sea with those dreamy, tousled, wavy locks, then we are going to bring that feeling to our living room in the form of this incredible Toni & Guy Deep Barrel Hair Waver. We love the look that tongs give our barnet, but having burnt our fingers too many times and spent waaaayyyyyy too long tonging our hair, we were on the lookout for something that does the same job in a tenth of the time without the smell of burning flesh!! It’s amazing. Try it. NOW!!
6. Cowshed Lippy Cow
Lockdown has left my lips dry and chapped, probably thanks to stress and having to stay indoors. This Lippy Cow lip balm from Cowshed is jam packed full of natural ingredients like jojoba oil, rose geranium and ylang ylang, and I slather it on every day. It lasts forever and is great value. Thanks Cowshed.
7. Votary Super Glow Face Mask
We love everything about Votary London. It is a small business run by wonderful people and their products are just amazing. This Super Glow Face Mask has got me through lockdown- it is nourishing for the skin and smells amazing and makes me feel like I’ve been on a mini spa break… even if I’ve only gone from my living room to my bathroom! Love everything about this product- my skin feels truly luminous.
8. Hif’s Hair is Fabric Volume Support Conditioner
Our hair is all over the place at the moment and this Hair Is Fabric Volume Support Conditioner suits all hair types and is from my secret website The Abnormal Beauty Company, and its our new favourite discovery. It revitalises hair and suits curly hair especially well, so works super well for Caroline and for Jess, who has fine hair that can feel weighted down when she uses the wrong conditioner!
9. Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions Stage 3
Anyone else out there suffering from sketchy skin?! Its probably all that wine drinking that we are doing, but nevertheless, it is still something that needs to be addressed. I have skipped Stage one and two of this product and gone straight to the Clinique Anti Blemish Solution Stage 3, and it works a treat. Put it in places where you have a break out and also in places where you are prone to blemishes, and it works both to reduce blemishes and to prevent them, so its win- win in our book.
10. LaGunilla Crianza Wine and Baron Gassier Rose
We love our wines and there two vinos that have become our go to after a day of homeschool and daily life…. Crianza Wine and Baron Gassier Rose.
