As soon as the first of November arrived, there was a not so subtle shift in the weather. I opened my front door, and got smacked in the face by a blast of Arctic cold. This means that we can now pull out our jumpers and start to nest until Christmas. Nothing says crisp November days more than a good jumper, and every winter I invest in a couple of pieces of knitwear that will see me through the winter. When I spied this little number on another mum in the playground, and left my kids in the sandpit to run up to her to ask where it was from, I knew I had found one of my new winter essentials.
I am normally partial to a bit of print, so this piece is the total opposite to a statement jumper, but makes a statement none the less, just in a different way. It is all in the details. The ribbing gives texture and structure, and it tapers in towards the waist, giving the illusion of a streamlined body. The loose and forgiving fit hides lumps and bumps, and the sheer material and fringing adds a nod of character to an otherwise clean cut. So easy to wear, day and night, as no complicated accessories are needed- just throw on some jeans and off you go.
Claude Pierlot is not a brand I have ever looked at, but after this playground discovery, I am now a convert. Just make sure you keep those gammy, raisin-clad little fingers away from your white discovery. Now, that is a detail you don’t want.

The top I am wearing is here, and is selling out fast, so hurry up!
