Christmas is around the corner and I’m getting nervous. My to-do list of things to achieve before these festivities is racking up, and buying Christmas presents is pretty much at the bottom of that list. So, to give myself a much needed Christmas boost that doesn’t involve a cocktail, here’s my gift guide for all you last minute shoppers like me, so click on, and enjoy.
FOR HER
Age of Reason Studios produce ethically made scarves (that could be framed and hung, that’s how gorgeous they are) and interiors, that are all made in the UK, and the designs are bold, fierce and playful.
Scandi jewellery company, Ro Copenhagen has the most stunning, understated personalised jewellery and we are both obsessed with our initial pendant necklaces. Each initial we have ( we chose the initials of our kids) from the, ” My Collection” is studded with a little diamond, and our necklaces are ones we now wear permanently. There is so much to choose from, and the whole collection is super versatile.
Anything from Votary London will be at the top of my present list- a beauty brand that has all natural ingredients, and the products that actually work. My favourites are the Eye Oil, the Antidote Night Oil, and the Cleansing Oil.
Kaaren Buchanan is now firmly on the fashion radar with her cool, classic and affordable yet expensive looking jewellery. This year, I’m coveting these…
Wyse London’s cashmere jumpers are a firm favourite in my wardrobe, but they also do the most comfortable and fun cashmere socks. And frankly, aren’t cashmere socks one of the best presents to get at Christmas?!
The TLM Edit has become one of my go-to online small businesses for everything from tops to accessories. Supporting small businesses that are run from home is essential.
The Daily Edited personalise everything from phone cases to bumbags, from laptop bags to make up bags. They also do a brilliant gift set.
I love art, and supporting smaller artists, and Nicky Jack is such a unique talent. Specialising in London houses, she manages to capture the character of family houses in her stunning watercolours. I have commissioned her to paint our house and the result was truly magnificent. Find her details here.
We love a simple t shirt here at NotSuchAModelMum, and Rotten Roach has some awesome designs, that are cool, timeless and made of the most flattering, knitted and comfortable fabric.
FOR HIM
Fill up his stocking with things he actually needs, as opposed to what we here at NotSuchAModelMum like to call,” tut”. Which man doesn’t need a reusable coffee cup from Chilly’s Bottles to end the waste that a single use coffee cup creates? These are cool, fun and, because they are double walled, they keep the temperature of that morning tea or coffee perfect.
We met the guys who set up Not-Another-Bill at a Boden press day, and were so impressed by the quality and style of their fun pieces. There is such a huge range of things to choose from that we are spoilt for choice, including a secret bookcase!
I love giving presents at Christmas that make us look forward to sunnier times, and nothing feels more summery on a cold winters day than giving swimming shorts. We have liked and used Bunks Trunks for a while now, and love the designs and the quality, and dads can twin with their sons, so even better!
You can never go wrong with some cashmere and Gant is our new favourite place to hunt down some mens cashmere. It is soft, comes in a huge variety of colours and washes well…oh my goodness, did I just say that?!
The Oak and Rope Company makes the most beautiful personalised gifts made out of stunning oak. From personalised iPad holders, to carving boards, cheese plates, benches and coat hooks, there’s something here for everyone. And if you order before the 16th December, they guarantee Christmas delivery.
FOR KIDS
My boys love a puzzle ( well, it’s actually me who loves them, and I’m the one that forces them to do puzzles with me!), and when i saw that Ravensburger now do 3D puzzles, all my dreams came true at once!
It was Caroline’s daughter Bronte who first got us into japanese modelling clay, and this simple foamy clay has given us hours of fun! You can create any figures and there are instructions to make fun figures like spongebag squarepants and ……/ It dries in the air so there’s no need to bake the figures.
The Conran Shop is a treasure chest of discoveries not just for grown ups but also for kids, and one of my favourite purchases for my kids has been their felt map of the world that hangs pride of place in their playroom. This has, unfortunately now sold out, but there’s so many other treasures to discover- from building your own pinocchio and human skeleton, to adorable hair clips, this is a one stop shop.
ScandiMinis is such a cool website full of Scandi kids brands and cool clothes. Set up by a mum of two, Gabrielle, we always find unique bits and pieces for the kids!
Wicked Uncle is one of our go- to online shops for godchildren, nieces, nephews, and any other child that we encounter! These gifts can be wrapped and there is so much unique stuff to choose from, from mini arcade games to eraser makers!
Anything interactive gets my kids excited, and these interactive t shirts will make my monsters very happy! Using a UV keyring, you can create your own designs on the t shirts again and again.
