I longingly look at my wardrobe full of fantastic finds I have accrued over the years of living in different countries and given to me from shoots, trying to find events, outings, evenings out… anything, where I can dust off the Joseph or Celine pieces I have stashed away from my past life pre-children, desperately trying to squeeze them into my new life. After all what’s the point of keeping them for a special occasion when a special these days is a play date in soft play?!
My dual life of Mummydom and modelling, where heels for castings are a must, and heels for the school run are cumbersome has meant adapting what I wear to the demands of my new life. And now that I use a bicycle in Barcelona to rush to meetings, work and to do the school run, I need my wardrobe to work hard for me and be both stylish and comfortable… And one that also goes with the bike helmet!
With this in mind, on a perfect Spring day, I head out with my family on the bikes and feeling confident and comfortable in my outfit, we cycle a nine mile round trip to our destination for Sunday lunch in Gava. I feel success has been accomplished- a cool, classic outfit where I am incorporating clothes from my previous life with the not so cool bike helmet.
I am wearing my Joseph grey wool with light blue striped detail joggers, which work fantastically well with ankle boots, trainers or heels. In homage to my sporty casual look, I am wearing my tan leopard toed ankle boots from Kurt Geiger, and to finish off my look I’ve pulled out the blue from the trouser stripe and matched it with an azure blue cashmere round neck jumper from our trusty friends at Marks and Spencer.
And if you are wondering why I am not sweaty, our bike is electric… A must in hilly Barcelona!
Here is the actual jumper- it comes in a multitude of colours so can be matched with the side stripe colour on the trousers.
